I've had several people ask me how I came up with the idea for this book. My family was originally from the South and we had several family members who fought in the war. We had one family member who did flee the United States after the war to live in Brazil.
This was a little known fact that hundreds of Confederates fled the United States for South America rather than live as war refugees under Yankee rule. There is an actual town in Brazil called Americana that was started by ex- Confederates. I have a personal love for Argentina and the Gaucho life style. Years back I owned a company called Gaucho knives, where I imported the Gaucho or South American cowboy knives thus the Gaucho connection.
The main character Murray was named after my Grandmother Janie Murray whose family came over from Scotland in the 1600's. A little creative thinking and you have a story of a Confederate soldier in South America living among the Gauchos.
I'm a big Clint Eastwood fan so the main character is based on a Clint Eastwood type character. So if you like Western type action, tough characters and lots of violence then you should completely enjoy this book!

My first Novel has just been released. An historical action novel set in the late 1800's. Captain Robert Murray of the Confederate Army finds himself in a country he feels he no longer belongs to. The South has lost the war, the North the enemy he has been fighting for the last four years is taking over. He's lost his farm, his family and the way of life he knows. Like many Southerners he decides the best thing is to leave. He crosses through Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana finally arriving in New Orleans after confronting Robbers, Rapist and Indians along the way. In New Orleans he meets an Argentine Gaucho who is doing business in New Orleans. The Gaucho encourages him to go back with him to Argentina to start a new life. Murray agrees and joins the Gaucho. The two then embark on an adventure that takes them half way around the world. Fighting robbers, Indians and corrupt soldiers in an action packed story you won't soon forget.
